The Sabbath
Shabbat conveys the essence of Judaism - the sanctifi-
cation of time. Jewish holidays recall events of the
past and enable their re-enactment. The Sabbath
brings together three crucial concepts:  it is a com-
memoration of the creation of the world, the exodus
from Egypt and, as well, a fore-taste of the Messianic
era.
